More than
woodworking.
Two friends, two families, a lot of sawdust, and a shared love of making things.
Built by faith, family and friendship.
Mike and Gabe are two friends who met building sets for their kids' theater group and quickly discovered how much they enjoyed building things together. What started as a hobby grew into Stellar Woodworking, a chance to take a raw piece of God's creation and turn it into something useful, beautiful, and built to last. We make quality cutting boards and are growing into furniture and other woodworking projects for the home. We love the feeling of taking something from a pile of wood to something we can hold in our hands and say, “We made that.” Even better is knowing that something we made might become part of someone's home, bring a smile to their face, and maybe even become something they pass down to their children.
Quality matters to us. We believe handmade doesn't have to mean “good enough.” We take pride in the details while also appreciating that every piece of wood, and every piece we make, is unique. We're also building Stellar Woodworking as a family. We want our families to have a place in it, whether that's helping make a board, packing an order, sweeping the shop floor, or simply being part of the journey. Our hope is to build something that everyone can feel a little ownership in. We're two friends, two families, a lot of sawdust, and a shared love of making things. We're grateful to God for the opportunity to create, to work with our hands, to serve others through what we make, and to see where He takes this.
And the name? We're proud to call Huntsville, Alabama, the Rocket City, home, so the stars felt like a natural fit. “Stellar” also describes what we're shooting for every time we build: out-of-this-world quality. We're just getting started, but if God wills it, we're hoping Stellar Woodworking grows into something much bigger than a hobby, a family business built on faith, friendship, craftsmanship, and things made to last.
Quality in every detail.
We build with the expectation that every piece leaving our shop should be something we're proud to put our name on. From selecting and preparing the wood to the final sanding and finish, we pay attention to the details that turn good materials and good workmanship into a piece made to last.
